I used to watch American Idol back in the day. Usually for the sucky first round asshats, but I remember the second the world knew her. I was on the computer while my mom was watching the 2nd rounds she song that "let freedom ring" song about as perfect as the woman who originally sung it. After that we supported her until she won the finals and became the 4th American Idol. The whole show was downhill after her. She's also hawt as hell.

The 28-year-old singer was decked out in a colorful purple frock as she worked the press at the MGM Grand Garden Arena prior to show kickoff.
With a full night ahead of her, Carrie is signed on to present an award while also among the star-studded lineup of performers set to take the stage during the annual ceremony.
Of Miss Underwood's performance plans, Executive Vice President of Specials, Music and Live Events for CBS Entertainment, Jack Sussman, said, “Carrie Underwood will walk out and I guarantee you she will be burning down that stage…she’s going to do nice little duet, but wants it to be kept between her and her duet partner-and if you know her well, you know you do not want to make her upset.”
